Privacy Policy

1. Scope and principles

This policy explains how FTZ, operated by Ryosuke Akagane (the Developer), handles information in the Vital wellness apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac, and on the official support website.

Vital is designed to keep sensitive processing on your device and to collect no more information than is needed to provide the features you choose.

Vital does not automatically send health data, analysis results, or saved home and work coordinates to the Developer, advertising or analytics providers, data brokers, GPT, or any other generative AI service.

2. Information handled by Vital

Health dataHealthKit data you permit Vital to read, or an Apple Health ZIP or export.xml file you explicitly select.

Analysis dataDaily summaries, personal baselines, trends, potential outliers and change points, comparison settings such as age, and possible correlations.

LocationOptional home or work coordinates and whether your device entered or left a 200-meter region. Vital does not store routes or location history.

PreferencesReminder time and settings for notifications, Live Activities, automatic updates, display, and comparisons.

Apple Watch summaryYour latest score, headline, up to four key signals, and update time. Raw HealthKit history and saved coordinates are not sent to the Watch.

Shared imagesThe metrics, date, comparisons, and charts you explicitly choose to include in an image generated on your device.

Support emailYour email address, message, and attachments only when you choose to email us.

Website accessTechnical request information may be processed temporarily by the hosting provider to deliver this website. App health data is never sent to the site.

3. Purpose and place of processing

Vital uses health and analysis data to show daily trends, differences from your usual range, personal baselines, potential outliers, possible relationships between metrics, and notifications you enable.

HealthKit reading, Health export parsing, daily aggregation, baseline calculations, and image generation run on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Vital does not require an account and does not use advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs.

The native Mac app has no direct HealthKit access. It reads only the ZIP or XML file you select through the system file picker.

4. Third parties, advertising, and tracking

Vital does not sell information or use health data for advertising, marketing, tracking, profiling, or third-party data mining. The Developer does not disclose health data, analysis results, or saved coordinates except where required by law.

Apple Maps

Address and place search uses Apple Maps. Search terms, visible map area, device information, and current location when authorized may be sent directly from your device to Apple as needed for the map service. Health data and analysis results are not sent to Apple Maps.

Sharing and Photos

Instagram, X, and other apps receive an image only after you explicitly select a destination in the system share sheet. Photo access is add-only; Vital does not read your existing photo library. The destination service's policy applies after sharing.

Email

Support email is created only after your confirmation. Vital does not read your contacts, inbox, or email account.

5. Retention and deletion

Daily summaries and preferences are stored in the app's protected local storage on iOS or App Sandbox on macOS. They remain until you use Delete Local Data or remove the app. Deleting local data does not modify records in Apple Health.

Information in a support email is retained in the email service only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request and maintain necessary records.

6. Permissions and your choices

HealthChange read access at any time in system Settings. Vital does not write new health records to HealthKit.

Mac filesThe Mac app receives read-only access to the ZIP or XML you select and does not scan other files or folders.

LocationLocation features are optional. Background arrival detection requires Always access. You can remove saved places individually.

NotificationsDaily reminders, change alerts, and Live Activities start off and can be stopped in Vital or system Settings at any time.

PhotosAdd-only Photos permission is requested only when you choose to save an image.

7. Security

Access is controlled by iOS permissions and macOS App Sandbox. Local summaries are kept in app-specific storage, and location data is limited to places you save for alerts. Vital does not upload health data to iCloud or another cloud service.

We recommend protecting your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

8. Medical notice and children

Vital is not a medical device. Its analysis, comparisons, notifications, and correlations are not intended for diagnosis, treatment, disease prevention, emergency decisions, or proof of causation. Consult a qualified healthcare professional when you have health concerns or need medical advice.

Minors should use Vital with a parent or guardian where appropriate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when laws, operating-system features, app features, or data practices change. Material changes will be presented clearly in the app or on this page.
